Sport Bikes Performance
Track-focused machines where 1 horsepower per kilogram is the ultimate goal.
Chasing the 1:1 Ratio
Sport bikes are the undisputed kings of power-to-weight. Because they don't have to carry the safety cage, glass, and chassis of a car, they are incredibly light.
A modern 1000cc Superbike can weigh 200kg and produce 200hp (1000 hp/ton). To achieve this in a car, you would need a multi-million dollar Hypercar.
Bike Classes
- LAMS / A2 (e.g., Ninja 400) ~270 hp/ton
- Supersport (e.g., R6) ~600 hp/ton
- Superbike (e.g., Panigale V4) ~1,000+ hp/ton
The Rider Factor
On a 1500kg car, an 80kg driver makes a 5% difference. On a 160kg motorcycle, an 80kg rider adds 50% more mass.
Acceleration
Lighter riders have a significant advantage in 0-100 times.
Center of Gravity
Body positioning is active ballast, changing cornering
dynamics.
Aerodynamics
The rider is the least aerodynamic part of the package.
